On a chilly Monday morning in Secunda, on July 31st 2017, a collaborative team of Komatsu Mining Corporation employees consisting of Learning & Development, Marketing, Customer Service Training, Engineering and Manufacturing awaited the arrival of students for the Sasol TechnoX.
The Sasol TechnoX is an initiative by Sasol, that is held every second year in Secunda. School children (as young as grade 2 and as old as final year university students) from Secunda, Mpumalanga, Nelspruit and other areas were hosted for the week under the theme of “Dream, Explore, Become”. The Sasol TechnoX is there to expose children to Mathematics, Physical Science and careers in Technology, Engineering and Science.
KMC showcased Engineering, Manufacturing and development opportunities that our organization offers in terms of bursaries, apprenticeships and traineeships. We had simulators from our Smart Services office available for attendees to try, as well as scale models of our machines.
The event was a huge success with KMC winning the Best Exhibitor stand. Congratulations to the team for representing Komatsu Mining Corporation so well, whilst empowering South African youth with knowledge and options.
