Joy Global, whose products help companies overcome ever-tougher challenges in the mining of energy, industrial and hard rock minerals. Founded in Milwaukee in 1884, Joy Global now boasts 11,500 employees across 135 locations in 20 countries.

“Geographically, we were a business where most of our growth was in Western markets,”says president and CEO Ted Doheny. “But as mining has gone to eastern Europe, India,Russia, China and Latin America, our geographic footprint has gone to where mining is. We’ve made some significant investments in China, and China is now in the teens as a percentage of our business, where 20 or 30 years ago, we were barely there.”
