The SnubRite dipper snubber is a mechanically driven rotary dipper door control system that is active when the dipper door is in closing or opening motions. The SnubRite dampens the dipper door closing speed during the latching process to minimize severe door impacts. The hydraulic oil in the unit provides a constant resistive force while the cast arm adds strength and reliability.

The SnubRite is now standard on all P&H 4100 class and 2800XPC shovels;  however, the system can retrofitted to all P&H shovel dippers as well as non--P&H dippers.

The SnubRite can be mounted on either side of the dipper; installation in the field takes approximately eight hours of labor.
