This year employees of the Franklin and Reno facilities partnered with our I.A.M Local 1842, and OPEIU 457 in the 19th Annual Adopt-a-Family project. This project was in coordination with Community Services of Venango County. Volunteers from each facility assisted in the collection of monetary donations, along with shopping, wrapping, and delivery of gifts.
This year $5,564.05 was collected for the Adopt-A-Family project. These donations were split to benefit as many members of our community as possible. Of the donations collected $3,937.18 was used to provide four families with Christmas gifts, a basket of essentials items, ham, 10 lb. bag of potatoes, a gift card for groceries, and a gift card for a local restaurant. The remaining $1,626.87 was used to purchase needed items for Community Services Christmas families. These purchases included hats, gloves, socks, deodorant, body wash, and other gifts for local children and teens.
A big “thank you” goes out to everyone for their generosity. It is wonderful that our family can give back to our community through this project. It is without a doubt that your contributions will make this holiday a little brighter for many families and to those that made it happen.
