In October we sponsored the 12th Annual sySTEM Now Conference presented by STEM Forward, a non-profit organization in Wisconsin dedicated to furthering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in the state. The conference brings together teachers from K-12, two and four-year colleges and universities, public and private sector employers of STEM talent and community-based organizations, policy makers and workforce development agencies. Attendees share best practices, network and celebrate leaders in the effort to create a STEM capable community.

Highlights of this year’s event which attracted hundreds of attendees included two informative and inspiring keynote speakers and panels focused on coding and computer science, the vital role of STEM role models in the classroom, employer engagement in sparking an interest in STEM careers, externships, strategies to engage girls in STEM and much more.

We have not only sponsored this event for many years but we have had local staff serve as panelists and received recognition for our local partnerships with schools. In addition to supporting the sySTEM Now Conference, we are involved both financially and through volunteer service with several other STEM Forward initiatives including the Future City Competition, the Engineers Week Banquet and board service.
