Our employees participated in a full week of building activity with Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity. In addition, we are excited to announce that we have raised and donated a total of $1 million for the nonprofit in five years.

The employees framed two new homes in Milwaukee’s Washington Park neighborhood, marking more than 5,000 volunteer hours in five years committed to Milwaukee Habitat. We have helped sponsor 13 homes in the neighborhood previously.

We put a focus on safety within our organization but believe that carries forward, beyond our doors,” said Jeff Schmaling, President, Americas North. “We want the work we do in the community to contribute to the safety and vitality of the neighborhoods that surround us, and we are encouraged by the preliminary results of Habitat’s focus on Washington Park.”

We launched our partnership with Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity in 2011, aimed at strengthening the Washington Park neighborhood, which is just minutes from the company’s National Avenue facility. The partnership includes a workplace giving campaign, year-round employee volunteer efforts and a supplier golf tournament.

Since its founding in 1984, Milwaukee Habitat has built more than 550 houses and restored more than 250 existing homes in the city of Milwaukee.
