On Wednesday 30 September, our Africa office officially handed over two fire fighting vehicles to the Leandra Fire Station.
In 2013, partnership discussions started with Sasol, and a number of community initiatives were presented to our company. We identified the Leandra Fire Station as an initiative to support.
Sasol had built the first station and equipped it with a fire truck.
We contributed towards the purchasing of two additional firefighting land cruisers in November 2014. The vehicles had to be custom made to suit the station’s specific requirements. With the vehicles finally completed, we officially handed them over to the Leandra Fire Station.
The event was well represented by Sasol Mining Management, Govan Mbeki municipality officials, firefighters from Leandra station and our Management.
These vehicles will be used to service the entire Govan Mbeki Municipality. In purchasing the fire fighting vehicles, our Africa office has contributed to grass roots developmental efforts, in the communities we operate.
